The Bath-based alternative rock quintet has released the long-awaited follow up to their debut album. On their first album they had a pop punk sound now they take their sound into the alt-rock arena and become a new Weezer.

So, if you are looking for a new Weezer album and aren’t looking for anything new, I’ve got the band for you! It’s Weezer, without the hits, but they try so hard to make a statement, what it is… I have no idea, but they are trying. The music is played well, lots of energy and quite poopy in places, and the vocals are pure Rivers Cuomo, no ifs ands or buts about it. I mean, for what it’s worth, the album is good, but sadly it’s far from original, no matter how much fun it is. There really isn’t a bad song on the album, but I already own Weezer albums… I guess if you are not too old or too into music, this will be right up your alley.

If you want to be challenged and find something new, keep on moving kids, nothing to see here, but if you are jonesing for a new Weezer album, this is for you. I mean I did like it, but a loss of points for the straight copying and here’s to the band keeping up the solid songwriting and for a more unique sound in the future.
