Dark 7 festival hosted at Camden’s Underworld, an 8 hour party of local talent playing EBM, Techno Trance and Industrial. The day had a real festival vibe with everyone drinking, dancing and socialising.
The opening act of the event was Ghost in the Static a 5 piece from Bracknell. Although the crowd was relatively small at this stage of the event, with people slowly filtering in the boys totally ripped up the stage with their Electro-Industrial Metal. Even Cease2xist joined them to belt out a Prodigy cover.
Cease2Xist provide the next part of the evening’s entertainment, describing themselves as Industrial Electro Punks, but playing a sound more akin to Industrial and Techno, but the vocals had a strong and very in your face Punk and Hardcore edge. They did what they did really well with great stage presence & very energetic and the crowed seem to love them!
Global citizen were the surprise highlight of the evening, with their heavily Gary Numan influenced sounds. Although it seemed at first the audience didn’t really know what to make of them, by the end of their set everyone was moving, dancing and wanting more. Not surprisingly Global Citizen was the only band asked for an encore!
As headliners of the night System:fx did not let us down,.
The dance floor was packed with some cyber bouncing away and going crazy at the front. Even the boys from Cease2xist and Ghost in the Static couldn’t resist storming the stage in the final song “Turn To Rust”.
The aftermath…Everyone I spoke to, during and after the festival and preceded to add on facebook, commented on how friendly and social day it had been and what a good festival vibe.
