Review by Kealie Mardell
The Underworld in Camden was packed full of eager metal fans, awaiting a line-up promising a night full of raucous debauchery. Scottish headliners Bleed From Within returned with their first UK tour in four years. They recently released the album ‘Uprising’ which has built these rising stars a remarkable reputation, evident from the impressive turnout.
First on the bill were the London reared Dripback; who opened the night with a truly destructive style.
Starting for such as strong line-up expectations were high, however for me Dripback just didn’t deliver. There was a sense of monotony and predictability which left more to be desired.
Silent Screams stepped up to the stage to liven things up with some melodic metal-core.
Their delivery was impressive, enthusiastic and energetic, with the evocative clean vocals really striking through. Standing out for me were the songs ‘Pacific Highway’ and ‘When it Rains’ – definitely worth a listen! Silent Screams might not quite have what it takes to take everyone by storm, but they are certainly heading in the right direction.
Next up were Heart of a Coward; who really stood out for me on the night. Hailed from Milton Keynes.
Heart of a Coward recently released their debut album ‘Hope & Hindrance’.
They don’t waste a moment in unleashing their sheer power onto the crowd, sending the pits into frenzy. Their relentless riffs layered with insane drumming, aswell as their prowess, is unforgettable.
Last but by no means least; the much anticipated Bleed From Within took to the stage.
Frontman Scott Kennedy offers non-stop action, diving into the pit of adoring fans.
Although just less than a month from the release of ‘Uprising’ it was clear from the response that this album has been on repeat for many.
Bleed From Within seemed truly humbled, paying tribute to the fans who have supported them over the years.
This heavy metal offering has been praised as Britain’s answer to Lamb of God – one to watch as they return in style!
