Every year in August, Felixstowe and Ipswich becomes a very popular location for Hot Rod and Custom Car lovers.
The “NASC Street Rod Nationals” takes place every year and for four days over the bank holiday weekend, Classic Cars, Hot Rods and Custom Cars are a very familiar sight.
Officially, the event starts on Friday afternoon, when the participants are able to set up camp for the weekend and enjoy some live music, before heading out for the big Hot Rod Cruise on Saturday.
We arrived in Felixstowe, on a glorious sunny Saturday, just before lunchtime and nearly the whole seafront promenade was already filled with beautiful Hot Rods, Custom Cars and Classic American Cars.
Thanks to the beautiful weather, the promenade was filled with people, Hot Rod Lovers and tourists alike, all admiring the huge amount of different cars on display.
As we wanted to make sure, that we didn’t miss one of the cars, we started our stroll along the beach straight away, taking lots of photographs of the Hot Rods on display, while listening to classic 50’s rock’n’roll music, performed by an very entertaining band.
After we had seen most of the cars, we settled down for a picnic at the beach before taking a little stroll through the amusement arcades, which can be found in every seaside town.

By 4pm, most of the cars had already returned to the arena, so we too decided to head back to Ipswich, after enjoying a wonderful afternoon by the sea!
